The Sun’aq Tribe of Kodiak Natural Resources Department works to protect traditional homelands (as defined in Tribal Resolution 2010-35, illustrated in the map to the lower-right), and helps to prevent or mitigate adverse impacts caused to subsistence resources. The Sun’aq Tribe of Kodiak Natural Resources Department takes pride in protecting and monitoring the health of resources within the Kodiak archipelago for the benefit of all residents. Alutiiq Peoples have been stewards of our traditional homelands for over 7,500 years and the Tribe’s Natural Resources Department seeks to continue that tradition.
