The Alaska Inter-Tribal Council is Created

Alaskan Tribal governments formed the Alaska Inter-Tribal Council (AITC) in 1992 as a non-profit foundation to advocate for Alaskan Tribes. Margaret Roberts, President of the Kodiak Tribal Council at that time, was a founding member of the Alaska Inter-Tribal Council and facilitated passing a March 14, 1992 Shoonaq' resolution to support the formation of the AITC and to authorize fundraising. The AITC continues to exist and thrive today.
